Easy Ride Auckland

The short version

• No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
• The developer does not collect, store, sell or share any of your personal data.
• Your location is used on your iPhone to find the stops nearest to you. It is never sent to the developer.

Your location

With your permission (“While Using the App” only), the app reads your location to find the nearest train stations, bus stops and ferry wharves, show which way you are facing, and estimate walking distance. This happens on your iPhone.

To work out walking time and draw the walking route, the app asks Apple Maps for directions from your location to the stop. Apple handles that request under the Apple Privacy Policy.

If you tap “Google Maps”, the app opens Google Maps with the stop’s coordinates. Google Maps then follows the Google Privacy Policy.

You can say no to location access. The app then offers a city-centre demo instead. You can change this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.

Network requests

The app connects to two services. Neither request contains your location or any personal information:

• Auckland Transport realtime API: to get live arrival times and delays. The app sends only the trip numbers of nearby services.
• GitHub Pages: to download timetable updates published from Auckland Transport’s open data.

Like any website, these services can see standard connection information such as your IP address. The developer has no access to it.

Stored on your iPhone

The app keeps your transport-type settings (train, bus, ferry) and the latest downloaded timetable on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
